Blood

Laying down upon the alluvium layer
as if the birth of language,
the origin of life, the universe,
the combustion of light
were reflected in this transmutation of matter,
as if this stratified detritus lost in the process of ablated decay
held the secret he longed for,
the veiled mystery that plagued his dreams
and nightmared his waking hours,
an entopic ambiguity that had pursued him since he was a small child.

It spoke to him in babbled tongues
from a history of human transience.
Softly murmured, reflected, echoed he entered the conversation.
The building collapsed, accordioned,
the organs dwindled and atrophied,
the bones brittle, pulverized under the weight.

The language developed gradually,
more descriptive, heightened metaphor,
attempts at regenerative anthropomorphism.

He became a calcified straticulate, a thin memory of self
And the soul [or other fraction] vaporized [unrecognized]

Disseminated:
vanished

hidden

reveled

The language pulsed through his body and became blood.
