I saw "Kingdom of Heaven", directed by Ridley Scott, and was really struck for the good storyline, no the usual glorification of the Crusades, one of the bloodiest episodes from our Western history, but a really empathic and good approach to the subject.
I has been in Jerusalem several times and I fall over and over fascinated by the city, the stones breath poetry and eternity. Some German pshychiatrist discovered a special pathologic disorder among the tourists coming to the city, he called it "The Jerusalem Syndrome", a kind of mystic madness who make people to feel they are the reincarnation of the Messias or from Abraham or from John.
I should rather be Saladin if I could choose someone to be, he was the only gentleman in the Crusades bloody enterprise...
