The Vampires and What They Want

For a little while, yes,
at least for a little while:
Let me live your existence.
You can be my vehicle.

Inhabit your body, yes,
at least for a little:
take your youth,
be another while.

The vampire is a creature destroys ripeness,
feeds on the body, overtakes youth.

Be another, your own.

O you’ll be my creature,
at least for a little.
O you’ll be
my velvet cape!

They have a tendency to prey on unsuspecting young:
catch the inspired youth, deplete its vehicle.

Let us live another existence.
Inhabit life that will resolve
into developed dullness,
vicarious, in a velvet cape!

Catch the inspired youth,
deplete its experiences:
everything fails to delight
damaged fantasies.

Be another, your own.
O you’ll be my velvet cape!
